This simple redwood unit was made as a practical shoe rack, with a clean, bookcase-style shape that could easily work for other uses around the home too.
The focus was on keeping the build straightforward, strong and cost-effective. Screw and dowel joinery gave the piece plenty of strength without adding unnecessary detail or complexity.
Once assembled, the timber was sanded smooth and finished with clear Danish oil to bring out the natural grain while adding a layer of protection for everyday use.
The finished piece was simple, durable and functional — exactly what was needed for a busy home.
