Bespoke 18-Panel Black Grid Hallway Mirror
A large bespoke 18-panel grid mirror made for our hallway, with a painted MR MDF frame, individually fitted mirror panels and completely hidden fixings for a clean, architectural finish.
Behind the build
This large 18-panel grid mirror was made for our own hallway, designed as a statement piece to suit the proportions and style of the space.
The frame was built from MR MDF and painted black to tie in with the surrounding wall panelling, radiator and other darker details throughout the hallway. Eighteen individual mirror panels were then carefully positioned within the frame and fixed using specialist mirror adhesive.
Keeping all of the fixings hidden was an important part of the design. With no visible screws, brackets or clips, the finished piece has the clean appearance of a traditional window-style grid mirror while still being completely bespoke to the wall it was made for.
The individual panels create the Crittall-style look often associated with industrial or windowpane mirrors, while the large overall size helps reflect more light through the hallway and makes the space feel wider and more open.
Finished in black against the white wall and dark blue panelling, the result is a simple but striking feature that feels completely integrated into the hallway rather than added afterwards.
