A compact rustic side table with a medium oak wax finish, discreet dowel joinery and black hairpin legs, designed to sit low and blend easily into the room.
Behind the build
This low-level rustic side table was made to sit beside a log burner, combining a simple shape with plenty of natural character. Finished in a medium oak wax and paired with 4-inch hairpin legs, the design kept things clean, warm and understated.
Each board was selected for its grain before being machined flat and square for a solid, well-fitted build. Dowel joinery kept the construction strong without adding visible fixings, helping the finished piece stay simple and uncluttered.
The wax finish brought out the warmth of the timber while adding a layer of protection, and the small black legs gave the piece a subtle modern contrast.
Compact and versatile, it was designed to work comfortably as a side table, low console, TV stand or decorative piece without overpowering the room.
